Upon arrival to Madrid airport you will be welcomed by your guide and escorted to a private vehicle. Then you will enjoy a scenic drive (2h 15 min) across the Spanish countryside until you reach your first stop in The Camino: Burgos.

Burgos, with its stunning gothic Cathedral, the resting place of El Cid is one of the highlights of the Camino de Santiago. A spectacular town full of history and with one of the most stunning buildings in Europe, its 13th-century gothic Cathedral, generally acknowledged to be one of the greatest architectural masterpieces of Europe.

Today, for dinner, you will have the opportunity to sample the signature dish of the Burgos region, the delicious "Lechazo": roast lamb slow-cooked using a centuries old technique. Of course, your meal would not be complete with an accompanying red wine from the region.

After enjoying a light stroll around Burgos,  it’s time to retire to your hotel to continue your journey through time. A magnificent 14th-century medieval castle awaits you. Sensitively renovated, its stone staircases, opulent ceilings, and luxurious rooms will make you feel like royalty. 


Day 2

After a delicious full breakfast, your driver will pick you up to drive you to the starting point of your next walking stage of the "Camino". 

From Burgos to León, the landscape changes, you will forget the rolling hills full of vineyards and you will welcome vast terrains of pastures. You wil also find the biggest concentration in Spain of Romanesque architecture dated from the 10th century.  After walking for 3.8 miles / 6 km, you will have time to relax in Frómista, one of the most beautiful villages in the Camino before heading to Carrión de los Condes. After a short drive from Frómista you will arrive to the Monastery of San Zoilo, a cluniac monastery from the 11th-12th centuries. The monastery of San Zoilo was very appreciated by the ancient pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, mostly due to its hospital, and it keeps the sepulchres of the Infantes de Carrión. 

Enjoying a delicious lunch in such a beautiful setting will be one of the highlights of your trip.

After lunch you will be driven to your next important landmark along the "Camino", León.  Spain’s Gastronomy Capital 2018, a lively historic town. You will check  in a stylish boutique hotel at León’s Main Square just metres away from Gaudí’s “Casa Botines” and León’s spectacular Gothic Cathedral, one of the greatest Cathedrals in Europe.

For dinner, you will be part of a unique and highly personal experience: a Jamón Ibérico private tasting hand carved by knife in front of you by a Master Ham Carver.

You will learn how to distinguish all the different types of Hams in Spain and you will taste Jamon Ibérico directly from the knife of a qualified professional. Every paper-thin slice of this delicacy has a unique flavour you will have the chance to enjoy as they melt in your mouth.


Day 3

After breakfast, you will enjoy a relaxing stroll around Leon’s city centre and a guided tour of Leon’s Gothic Cathedral, a masterpiece dated from the 13th century that will take your breath away. You’ll be transported back in time inside a magical place where you will be touched by the beauty of the sunlight crashing through one of the finest stained-glass windows in the world.

Enjoy this spectacular display of light and colours with the company of hundreds of pilgrims that arrive to this place every day after walking along the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.

The world-famous architect Antoni Gaudí designed one of the few works he made outside Barcelona in this town, the impressive palace called “Casa Botines”, an architectural masterpiece at the centre of this charming town in Northern Spain and just a few metres away from the Cathedral.

At noon, you will be picked up from your hotel an after a short drive (50 min) you will arrive at Bodega El Capricho, a family-run farm house and grill restaurant acclaimed by the international press like Time, the Guardian, Stern or New York Times be the best place in the world to eat the perfect steak.

The film Steak Revolution proclaimed the “Galician Blond” steak from Bodega El Capricho as the best in the world. This will be the most intense meat experience of your life in a remote village on the back roads of Northern Spain

El Capricho’s owner José Gordón raises his own oxen from different Iberian native breeds in a piece of land where you can touch these enormous animals with up to seven feet tall, 1.400 kgs and up to 15 years old.

Then the meat is dry-aged in temperature-controlled refrigerators to enhance its flavours up to 180 days.

After a visit to the farm to admire the oxen you will immerse yourself into an unforgettable experience of intense flavours at the restaurant, placed in a cave used hundreds of years ago as a wine cellar.

After the feast, you can take a Spanish “siesta” while you will be driving north to Asturias for about 1 h to your next hotel along the Camino, Palacio de Canedo.  It is the most important wine estate in Bierzo, where you can enjoy a spectacular palace made of wood & stone, beautifully restored and turned into a rustic-chich luxury hotel surrounded by vineyards.

Discover the secrets of the wine making process at one of the most promising wine regions in Europe: “Bierzo”. Its primary grape, Mencia, is found nowhere else in the world.

A stroll through the vineyards and a wine tasting of their famous wines paired with delicious local food while you contemplate a spectacular sunset  over the vineyards will be the cherry on the cake to a visit to this magical region.

Because there are few greater experiences that to simply enjoy a glass of wine looking out over the Spanish sunset…

After enjoying breakfast overlooking the vineyards, you will be driven to a place that combines fine wines, history and monastic elegance. 

You will be welcomed to the Ribeira Sacra, an area in inland Galicia which is home to spectacular natural features such as the canyons of the Miño & Sil rivesr –the mark of identity of the region– and a valuable artistic heritage. Here you'll find a dozen medieval monasteries to remind you of this region's importance in the Middle Ages. A genuine journey back through history. It is also the hidden gem of the wine world: a paradise for wine lovers and the 4th wine region you will discover during your Spanish adventure.

A visit to these vineyards, home to the region’s artisan wines, will see you walk among centuries-old vines. Dating back 2000 years to Roman times, these slopes are home to the Mencía (red) and Godello (white) grape varieties.  

You will walk long the river Miño surrounded by terraces full of vineyards, a jaw-dropping landscape will guide you along the way for about 5 miles / 8 km. For lunch, you will enjoy a feast of local produce in a traditional restaurant in a tiny village in a spectacular setting.

At the end of the day, you will retire to the contemporary elegance of your hotel for the next two nights, a converted monastery that dates back to the 7th century. This peaceful retreat combines ancient beauty with luxury hotel service and stunning boutique rooms surrounded by a lush green forest by the river.

For dinner, you will indulge yourself at the hotel's à-la-carte restaurant.


Day 5

Today, you will have some free time to sleep in or enjoy a stroll around this beautiful hotel after a full breakfast of local specialities.

Later on, you will be driven to a magical place to enjoy one of the most unique experiences in the region: a private boat tour along the Miño river with a lunch by the river and a visit o one of the most traditional wineries in the Ribeira Sacra.

As you journey along the river, you will learn about how the wines are produced from the vineyards that stretch along the terraces above you, and then transported by boat to be transformed into wine.

Day 6

After enjoying a relaxing  and delicious breakfast overlooking the courtyards of this spectacular hotel, you will be picked up by your driver and you will enjoy a scenic drive to the start of the final walking stage of the "Camino de Santiago".

You will join all the pilgrims during the last 6. 2 miles / 10 km of the "Camino" from the outskirts of Santiago to the final point, the Plaza del Obradoiro where its magnificent Cathedral and your hotel will be waiting for you at the end of the stage.

Welcome to Santiago de Compostela, the capital of the Galicia region, Northern Spain’s most iconic city. This UNESCO Heritage Site is the final stop on the epic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail; its unique atmosphere, history and cobbled streets will be waiting for you.

After some time to relax and enjoy the views  of the Cathedral, you will enjoy a traditional Galician tapas lunch in a traditional restaurant right in the historic town centre.

After lunch you will check in your magnificent hotel. You will have the privilege of staying in a historic building in Spain. After sumptuous breakfast with breath-taking views of Santiago de Compostela's Gothic Cathedral, you will experience an early morning culinary tour of the central farmers' market where colours and aromas combine to create an intoxicating gastronomic experience.

There you will find only the most succulent fruit and vegetables, freshest seafood, Galician octopus and the world famous dry-aged Galician Blond Beef.

Your morning will continue with a tour inside Santiago's world famous Gothic Cathedral, and the culmination of the Camino de Santiago for hundreds of pilgrims who arrive every day to hug Apostle Santiago. You may attend mass if you wish where you could enjoy the swinging of the Botafumeiro, a beautiful display during the Pilgrims' mass.

For lunch, you will be driven out of the town to a real hidden gem. Lush forests, creating a peaceful haven away from the bustle of the city, surround this luxury boutique hotel. With first class service at its restaurant,  you will instantly feel at home savouring delicious traditional Galician food.

After lunch, you will enjoy the rest of the evening at your own leisure, with some time to relax at your hotel or enjoy the beautiful historic centre on your own. 

Tonight, you will enjoy a farewell dinner at the hotel signature restaurant “Restaurante dos Reis” in a historic space housed in what was once the stables for the Royal Hospital, where you will sample traditional Galician cuisine in a unique atmosphere. 


Day 8

Today, it is time to say goodbye to your adventure in Spain. With some time to do some shopping or relaxing at your hotel in the morning, a transfer to Santiago's airport on time for your flight will be the saddest experience of your memorable stay in Spain.
