Santiago de Compostela, the capital of the Galicia region, is Northern Spain’s most iconic city. This UNESCO Heritage Site is the final stop on the epic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail; its unique atmosphere, history and cobbled streets draw thousands of visitors each year.

Our visit digs below its surface beauty, to unearth a vibrancy and flavour that few visitors get to experience.

A private guide will take you on a walking culinary tour of the central farmers’ market where colours and aromas combine to create an intoxicating gastronomic experience. Here you will find only the most succulent fruit and vegetables, freshest seafood and the local delicacy, aged Galician blonde beef.

After the visit, you will go on a sightseeing tour of Santiago de Compostela’s old town. You will discover a magical town, the culmination of the world-famous “Camino de Santiago”. Join hundreds of pilgrims at its famous gothic Cathedral and take part of a singular ceremony: “The Botafumeiro”.

For lunch you will enjoy a signature restaurant where you can try the holy grail for meat lovers. Have you ever tried Spanish dry-aged Galician Blond Beef? Did you know that it is internationally acclaimed as the best beef in world?

The distinctive character of the beef is a deep rich flavour, which is provided by the age of the cows and oxen at slaughter, when they are at least eight years old. Then, beef is dry-aged for around 100 days before serving. The high marbling is supported by the deep red colour of the beef and a distinctive thick yellow fat.

You will have the rest of the evening at your leisure to relax at the hotel or explore the streets of the old town.

Later on, you will be escorted by your guide to a Michelin-starred restaurant where you will experience a unique and highly personal dining experience that takes you behind the scenes. Taking your seat in the Chef’s kitchen, you’ll relish this Michelin-starred culinary treat. Enjoy a conversation with your Chef as he prepares and cooks your tailored tasting menu in front of you.

Each Spanish Cooking class ends with a delicious lunch and carefully chosen wine pairings.  You will enjoy what you have cooked using your newly acquired knowledge.
